Try David's Cookies for an Exceptional Treat
Thursday, December 15, 2005

David's Cookies has been offering incredible goodies and sweets to the public since 1979. In a short number of years, there were more than 250 franchises and it was an international business. There are cookies and other incredible choices at David's for everyone. David's Cookies are kosher and are baked under the supervision of the Orthodox Union of America. If you need a gift idea for a Jewish friend and want to give a gift of food, this would be a great choice.

You can find all kinds of gifts here and you can choose from freshly baked cookies, brownies, crumb cake, cheesecake, cookie dough, and ruggelach. Ruggelach is a rolled pastry that is made with cream cheese and fillings such as nuts, chocolate, raisins, preserves, and so on.)

Something very fun for the holidays is the Cookie Play Dough set. The cookie dough arrives in four different colors of sugar cookie dough including red, yellow, green, and blue. The doughs can be mixed to develop new colors. The whole family can have fun designing cookies from this colored dough. I would suggest using it with children who are old enough to realize and understand that this is actually food and the other kind of play dough they may use is *not* food and should never be eaten. Very young children may not be able to distinguish the difference.

If you want to make holiday cookies (although cookies all year round are just as fantastic, of course!) and don't have the time to do it, David's Cookies sells cookie dough in many flavors and all you have to do is scoop it onto the cookie sheet and bake. (The scoop is actually included!) Three pounds of dough produces about 4 dozen cookies.

If you want to do something really nice for yourself or for someone you love, check into David's "Cookie of the Month" club. You will be able to choose from a 3 month, 6 month, or an entire 12 month plan. Fresh cookies will arrive on your doorstep every month and are always delicious. The flavors that you will be able to look forward to include:

January -- Macadamia Chocolate Chunk
February -- Chocolate Chunk
March -- White Chocolate Chunk with Cherry or Cranberry
April -- 4 to 6 Assorted Cookie Flavors
May -- Peanut Butter with Reese's Chips
June -- Oatmeal Raisin and Orange Oatmeal Cranberry
July -- Double Chocolate Chunk and Sugar Cookies
August -- White Chocolate Chunk
September -- Butterscotch Pecan and Coconut Pecan
October -- Macadamia White Chocolate Chunk
November -- Various flavors of Mini Cookies
December -- Chocolate Chunk

If you still need additional ideas for gifts or for that special treat for yourself, you will find Butter Pecan Meltaways, various gift assortments, Florentine Lace cookies, and Fruit & Nut Assortments.

I won't explain all of the various options that you will find from which to choose, but as just one example, take the Chocolate Lover's Assortment. It's clear to anyone who knows me why I chose that one! The assortment will arrive with 2 pounds of brownies and a pound of chocolate walnut ruggelach. It will be divided into eight brownies and you will receive two chocolate chip, two pecan chocolate chip, two rocky road, and two cheesecake brownies. There will also be about sixteen ruggelach in the tin.
