Why I Like TGI Friday's
Saturday, October 22, 2005

I love going out to eat, so I of course have several favorite restaurants that I regularly patronize. You're probably the same way. You've got a specific place that you like to go to for a good steak, another place that serves up great seafood, and yet another for a perfect plate of pasta. You might also have a favorite restaurant that you like to go to just because it's so much fun. For me, that just happens to be TGI Friday's.

TGI Friday's is an international chain, so chances are you've been to one at some point in time. I like it for several reasons, and usually end up going there for lunch, dinner, or drinks at least once a week. There is a Friday's about 5 minutes away from where I work (and 5 minutes away from home, as well), so it's very easy to make it out there so often.

One of the reasons that I like TGI Friday's is the atmosphere. They constantly play upbeat music that is loud, and yet not so loud that you have to scream to talk to the people you came with. The servers at TGI Friday's are generally in a good mood, and they wear wacky hats and lots of big buttons with funny slogans all over their uniform suspenders. The way the servers look and act is as much a part of the TGI Friday's culture as anything else in the restaurant.

Another thing that adds to the fun atmosphere at TGI Friday's is the decor. They have weird, interesting Americana objects suspended from the ceilings, hanging on the walls, and displayed in glass cases. There is also a wood bar that wraps around in a square, brass railings, and other decorating details that I really appreciate as a customer. It all adds up to a great pick-me-up setting that is just the thing you need after a long day or week at work.

And of course the food at TGI Friday's is pretty good, too. They have great appetizers, such as potato skins loaded with cheddar cheese, bacon, and chives, as well as mozzarella cheese sticks, and Buffalo chicken wings served with bleu cheese dressing and celery. The appetizer serving portions are huge, and are perfect with a pitcher of beer with your friends. In fact, the appetizers are so big, that it's hard to eat an entire order alone and then expect to put down a regular meal next.

If you are eating lunch or dinner at TGI Friday's, you have a full menu of delicious food to choose from. There's something for everyone, so you can bring the whole family and be sure that even your pickiest eaters will find something that they like on the Friday's menu. For example, there are massive burgers, chicken prepared several different ways, lots of sandwiches, various pastas, filling salads, and juicy steaks.

As you can see, there are many reasons to like TGI Friday's. So the next time your family can't decide which restaurant to go to, try your local Friday's establishment. Hopefully, you'll have as much fun as I always do!
